A Step-by-step guide to ICAI’s New scheme of Education and Training (Foundation Route)

A candidate aspiring to become a Chartered Accountant may apply through the foundation route anytime after clearing Class X examination.

Eligibility

Eligible to appear in June/December Examination after completion of 4 months study period and AFTER appearing in Class XII Examination

Step-by-step guide to register for CA through the Foundation Route

Step 1:

Fill the form and submit necessary documents to register for Foundation Course

Last date of registration for June attempt: 1st Jan

Last date of registration for December attempt: 1st July

Step 2:

Pass Class XII examination and then appear for CA Foundation exam. Upload your 12th marksheet before appearing for CA Foundation exam.

Step 3:

Clear the foundation exam and register for CA Intermediate course

Step 4:

Appear in CA Intermediate Examination after a study period of 8 Months & Pass BOTH groups of Intermediate Examination

Step 5:

Complete Integrated Course on Information Technology and Soft Skills (ICITSS) before commencement of Practical Training (PT) i.e Articleship

Step 6:

Register for CA Final AND commence 2 years of Practical Training (PT)

Step 7:

Complete and qualify self-paced online modules

Step 8:

Complete 2 years of Practical Training

Step 9:

Successfully complete Advanced ICITSS after completion of Practical Training but before appearing for Final Examination

Step 10:

Appear for CA Final Examination 6 months AFTER Practical Training is completed.

Step 11:

Pass both groups of CA Final Examination

Step 12:

Apply for Membership of ICAI and Qualify as a Chartered Accountant
