CA Foundation Syllabus Paper 2: Business Laws and Business Correspondence and Reporting
This is a three hour long paper of 100 marks. It is divided into two sections. Section A (Business Laws) is of 60 marks and Section B (Business Correspondence and Reporting i.e BCR) is of 40 marks.
BCR Paper Pattern
Section B – BCR consists of 5 Questions (Q7 to Q11)
One Question i.e Q7 is a compulsory question. Students need to answer only 3 questions out of the remaining 4 questions.

(a) Comprehension – 5 marks
(b) Note Making – 5 marks
Q8)
(a) Communication – 2 marks
(b) (i) Synonyms – 1 mark (MCQ)
(ii) Antonyms – 1 mark (MCQ)
(iii) A question on either change from Active voice to Passive voice or
Change from Direct speech to Indirect Speech can be asked – 1 mark
(c) Precis writing – 5 marks

(a) Communication – 2 marks
(b) (i) Change from Active voice to Passive voice – 1 mark
(ii) Change from Passive voice to Active voice – 1 mark
(Instead of the above, a question on synonyms/antonyms may be asked)
(iii) Change from Direct speech to Indirect Speech – 1 mark
(c) Writing Skills (Report writing / Resume writing / Article writing / Letter writing) – 5 marks

a) Communication – 2 marks
b) i) Change from Active to Passive voice – 1 mark
ii) Change from Passive to Active voice- 1 mark
iii) Change from Direct to Indirect speech – 1 mark
c) Writing skills (memo- circulars / letter writing / article) – 5 mark
Q11) a) Communication – 2 marks
b) (i) Idioms, Phrases/words – 1 mark
(ii) Idioms, Phrases/words – 1 mark
(iii) Change from Passive voice to Active voice – 1 mark
(iv) Synonyms – 1 mark
c) Writing skills (Letter Writing/ résumé writing/ e-mail/ minutes/ memo-circular) – 5 marks
